It was very convenient to the train station, the owner/manager was very nice and helpful. The breakfast (included in the price) was very good (quality and quantity). And great pillows!!
Wish there was an elevator (we were on the 4th floor), but the owner/manager is clearly very used to helping, and willingly ran up the stairs with some of our bags! It would have been helpful for there to be walking directions from the train station to the hotel. We used Google Maps which took us out of our way.

verything is fine but only one thing the owner shouldn't decided to use Cread card to pay the hotel money without ask and before we arrived. and not able cancell booking before two weeks tha is not match Booked.net informaton.

Location
Inconvenient. I had to climb 4 flights of stairs to get to my room. Accommodations left a lot to be desired.

Warm welcome and we had read previous visitors comments, so we knew about the stairs. The room on the 4th floor was comfortable and clean and although we are septogenarians we enjoyed our two night stay. The breakfast was typically German and the coffee excellant. The hotel is about 10-15 minutes from the main station, the city centre and the river Rhine.

The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. It's a short walk from the centre of town/station.
When we read other reviews, we thought 'it can't be that bad'. Honestly, it really is. Don't stay here unless you really have to. The area is run-down and first impressions of the hotel were that it's depressing and really not particularly welcoming - the hallways and 'dining' room where you eat breakfast are dingy, carpets in need of a serious steam clean and the whole place really does smell of cigarettes. It's not the absolute worst place to stay in Cologne, far from it probably, but it's really not great.

The location - close to the station
Very overpriced for the room - small, dark and noisy. No welcome or customer service. No lift and steep stairs.
